It involves making a small incision in the back and creating a tunnel into the kidney. A nephroscope is then inserted through this incision to visualize and remove the stone or break it into smaller pieces using various techniques such as ultrasound or laser energy.

6. Open Surgery: Open surgery is rarely used for stone treatment nowadays, but in certain complex cases, where other procedures are not feasible, a traditional open surgical approach may be required to remove the stone directly.
